Representing the iconic Sub Pop record label, label President and renowned A&R executive Tony Kiewel will appear at BIGSOUND for this special In Conversation event.
Spending most of the 1990s immersing himself in radio world as a DJ for KXLU, and at various labels like Geffen and Dreamworks Records, based in Los Angeles, Kiewel made the move to Seattle in 2000 and joined the Sub Pop family.
Initially working in radio promotion, Kiewel moved into A&R, becoming responsible for introducing artists like Father John Misty, The Postal Service, Orville Peck, Sleater-Kinney and more to the renowned label. Outside of Sub Pop, Kiewel has worked within the Seattle music community, working with the industry itself to solve problems artists were facing at a local level, as part of the Seattle Music Commission.
A career unlike many others, with a name so synonymous with culture-shifting music, Kiewel’s BIGSOUND session is unmissable.
