In recent years, Tarana Burke has become a figure of empowerment for many more around the world. In 2006, Burke began the me too. movement; a way for women who had shared experiences of sexual violence to find community.

Over a decade on, the term 'me too' has graduated into a global movement and has become a beacon of support for women around the world to help heal through the ‘me too.’ Movement. The entertainment industry has seen some of its most powerful names brought to justice as a result of the movement; while the ripple effects of the ‘me too.’ Movement has empowered women around the world, victims or not, to find strength in using their voice and platform. Named Time's Person of the Year in 2017 with a group of prominent activists, Burke's presence is one of unwavering strength.

In her BIGSOUND keynote, Burke will discuss her career and journey, her perspective on the ‘me too.’ Movement legacy and how becoming a 'silence breaker' has changed not only her life, but many more around her.
